The Ontario Soccer Association Partners with ITSportsNet

OSA and ITSoccerNet announce plans to implement ITSoccerNet

October 1, 2002

Calgary, Alberta - October 1, 2002 - The Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) recently announced that it has partnered with ITSportsNet, an experienced sports information technology provider, to upgrade its current registration and club management software. This brings together Canada's largest provincial sports organization with Canada's largest sport-specific technology provider. Over the course of the next nine months, a customized product called ITSoccerNet (www.itsoccernet.c om) will be rolled out to all the clubs, leagues, and districts under the OSA.

ITSoccerNet is a complete registration, communication and management solution designed to manage the more than 350,000 players, coaches, administrators and referees that belong to the OSA. It includes a customized suite of easy-to-use web-enabled solutions that serve the needs of the club, league and district levels. Based on the success of ITSportsNet's current club and league management products, it is expected that ITSoccerNet will reduce administrators' time by up to 50%.

"The OSA entertained proposals from a number of companies last year including one of Canada's largest vendors who handled the OSA's on-going upgrades. It was essential that the OSA partner with someone who knew the industry as well as the sport and could provide a financial plan that worked for the membership. Based on this criteria, ITSportsNet provided the best solution for our needs," stated Brian Avey, Executive Director of the OSA.

The First End-to-End Solution for Amateur ports
Thanks to the past three years of development, ITSportsNet now offers a complete suite of solutions for grassroots sport organizations right up to the national level. "Early on, our focus was to serve the needs of the grassroots soccer. This was important to our early success, since this is where most of the work gets done. Building on the value that we were able to deliver to our early customers, we expanded the functionality to include the needs of both the district and provincial body organizations. Now we have a single solution that meets the administrative needs of all levels within sport. We are very excited to see the province-wide rollout of ITSoccerNet," stated David Cooper, President of ITSportsNet.

As part of ITSoccerNet, clubs will be able to offer online registration & fee payment to their members. Demand has been growing for clubs to offer this service, and with ITSoccerNet a complete turn-key solution will be available to all the clubs. This means that clubs will have a single system for managing all registration, team building, schedules, standings and web communication (both website and email).

Expansion to other State/Provincial and National Groups
"ITSoccerNet is a leading edge product for soccer organizations. The model that we have built with the OSA aligns nicely with the needs of other state/provincial and national sport organizations. We look forward to expanding this product to other soccer organizations and other sports in the very near future." according to Chris Groot, VP Marketing of ITSportsNet.

ITSoccerNet is a centralized system that meets the needs of all stakeholders under the OSA umbrella. It provides every club with a set of tools to effectively manage themselves, and make it easier to communicate with their leagues, their district and the OSA itself. Overall, this will help the continued growth of the game throughout the province.
