Real Madrid, leading trademark in 2003 January 24th, 2004 Real Madrid has been the trademark most mentioned on the Spanish online newspapers last year, according to a survey conducted by consulting firm DiceLaRed. The club managed by Florentino Pérez has moved up from 2002's third position, to have its name mentioned 28,190 times last year on the web editions of these media. Real Madrid has overthrown Teléfonica (17,120) and BBVA (8,960) from the top positions. This survey has put Iberdrola fourth, up from last year's twelveth position, with its name mentioned over eight thousand times. Repsol (7,953) is fifth one more year and Gas Natural stands sixth with 7,864 mentions
The rest of this 'on-line' top-ten is made up of Grupo Santader Central Hispano (7,505), Fútbol Club Barcelona (5,891), Endesa (5,404) and the Stock Market Commission (5,264). This research includes almost 190 million words in about 400,000 news articles published on the online editions of 'El País', 'El Mundo', 'La Razón', 'La Vanguardia', 'El Periódico de Catalunya', 'Expansión' and 'Cinco Días'.
