September 30, 2003

Zurich, 30 September 2003 -The national associations of Egypt, Libya, Morocco, South Africa and Tunisia (listed in alphabetical order) – all bidding for the honour of hosting the 2010 FIFA World CupTM – have submitted their bid dossiers to FIFA today during official presentations at the headquarters of world football's governing body in Zurich.

FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter and General Secretary Urs Linsi welcomed the delegations, accepted the dossiers and attended the official presentations of the bidding associations. The Head of the Inspection Group for the 2010 FIFA World CupTM and President of the Belgian football association, Jan Peeters, was also present for the proceedings.

"Today has been a great success. I am now eager to get down to business, as are the other members of the FIFA Inspection Group. It is a crucial task and one which we will carry out with great relish," added Jan Peeters.

The inspection visits to the bidding nations will commence next month (7-14 October in Morocco and 29 October-5 November in South Africa) and reach their conclusion early next year. A detailed report will subsequently be compiled, upon which the members of the FIFA Executive Committee will base their final decision regarding the host nation in spring 2004.

The Nigeria Football Association has not sent a delegation to Zurich.
