Best From North And Central America And Caribbean Match Up In Soccer's Renowned Event, The Gold Cup – To Be Broadcast On Univision And Galavision Monday, July 7TH, 2003 Miami, FL -- America's leading Spanish-language television and cable networks, Univision and Galavision, will broadcast CONCACAF's (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football) showpiece event, the 2003 Gold Cup, throughout the month of July. Beginning Saturday, July 12 at 1pm ET/ 10am PT, Univision and Galavision will present Hispanic TV viewers with expert commentary and thrilling matches that will keep soccer fans cheering. Contested every two years, The Gold Cup will crown the champion national team of the North and Central American and Caribbean regions. Competing from July 12-27 in three cities – Foxboro, Massachusetts; Miami, Florida; and Mexico City – nations from the region will field their most promising talent. The 12-team tournament will have 10 CONCACAF teams, lead by USA, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Honduras, and two invited squads from CONMEBOL (South American Soccer Confederation), world champion Brazil and South American champion, Colombia. Sportscasters Pablo Ramirez and Ricardo Mayorga will offer complete coverage in what is sure to be a tremendous competition for soccer fans around the world.
