San Diego, CA (July 14, 2003) – In an effort to raise awareness of the need for head protection on the soccer field, Full90 Sports, a provider of superior athletic protection equipment, today officially announced the formation of Team Full90. Team Full90, which includes superstars such as Joy Fawcett, Christine Latham, and Jamie Pagliarulo, is focused on educating the industry about protection standards and bringing public attention to issues of head protection for soccer players.

While soccer is a relatively safe sport compared to American football or hockey, recent studies show that accidents can and do occur in soccer and often go unchecked. According to a recent study at McGill University, more than 60% of college-level players reported symptoms of concussions during a single year. The conclusion supported the fact that head injuries are more frequent than most suspected. Studies have also shown that the majority of concussions occur from head to player contact or head to ground impact.

Full90 Sports was created to protect players from these types of injuries and has formed Team Full90 in an effort to bring greater attention to equipment needs on the soccer field.
